Bina Magar was appointed as the Minister of Drinking Water under Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Oli’s Council of Ministers on 16 February 2018. Bina won the Kanchanpur-1 seat in Parliament. She is the first woman to win an election from the Far-Western Region, Province 7, also one and only youngest Minister in Prime Minister Oli’s Cabinet. She was the president of the Independent Student Union from ANISU-R in Saraswati Campus and the daughter-in-law of Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
