Priyanka Karki, originally named Sukumari Karki, is a popular actress, model VJ, director, producer, philanthropist, and singer. She first hit the spotlight as a beauty queen when she conquered the title of Miss Teen Nepal 2005 pageant. Born on 27th February 1987 in Kathmandu, Nepal. Priyanka is among Nepal's highest-paid actors and the most popular entertainers. She has received many accolades, including the National Film Critics Award (NFCA) and National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) National Film Awards 2017, Nepal Film Technician Award (NEFTA) film awards. Priyanka was born and raised in Kathmandu with her parents Bhupendra Karki, Rakhshya Malhotra Karki, and brother Parnit Karki. She did her schooling at one of the prestigious schools, Rato Bangla School, where she was a scholar. After that, she went to the University of North Alabama to further pursue her degree in filmmaking. She was married to Rochak Mainali after dating for over two years in the USA in 2010. Priyanka has a fascinating career in Nepali Entertainment Industry. She started her career as a TV anchor in a program named "Celluloid" in 2006. She debuted with the movie "3 lovers" in 2012. Priyanka's role as a sex worker in "Jholay" with Dayahang Rai, and "Nai Nabhannu la" with Suraj Singh Thakuri are the two most commendable roles she has played to date. She has portrayed many different characters that showcased her versatility as an actor. Karki featured on the song “Surke Thaili Khai” which became the first Nepali song to reach 20 million views on YouTube. Meanwhile, she was keen on singing as well. As she was married and divorced earlier and now married the second time that too to someone who is 10 years younger than her. One of her many controversies was her wardrobe malfunction during the success party of “Nai Nabhannu La 2”. A picture went viral where her underpants was visible through her pencil skirt while sitting. She initially accused the journalist of photoshopping the incident but later confirmed that it was not a montage but a genuine accident. Likewise, Priyanka purchasing a car during the earthquake-2015. She proudly flaunted it on her social media handles saying she bought it with her hard-earned money. While several online media alleged that she used relief funds raised for earthquake victims to make the purchase. She was trolled for her recent interviews and showing off her pregnancy pictures on her social media handles.
